So when I saw this link: http://www.mindfulinmay.org on Facebook yesterday, of course I took a look. It’s a campaign, starting on first of May (yes, that’s this Friday) that aims to encourage people around the world to create a habit of mindfulness while at the same time raising funds for clean water projects in developing countries.
If you already practice mindful meditation and could do with a boost to your practice (as I just had last week), or if you’ve never meditated but would love to learn in a supported way, please join me.
Together, we could connect with people globally to make a huge difference, both by raising funds to provide clean water for communities in need and at the same time creating a calmer more peaceful world of mindful people. How great would that be?
For a $30 registration fee, the program offers:
- daily guidance through the e-course with clear, accessible tips on mindfulness meditation
- weekly audio meditations
- daily motivation and coaching to support your mindful habit.
- Interviews with leaders in mindfulness across the globe
- Your own meditation journal to track your month
- Inspiring content to nurture your soul and focus on wellness
- And healthy recipes to support wellness and inspire the practice of mindful eating.
It’s no-coincidence that this is a thirty-one day challenge. It’s been said that it takes 30 days to change (or create) a habit, so practicing for 31 days will give you a great start to making this a lifelong habit.
Mindful meditation has been well-researched and shown to produce beneficial effects on anxiety, depression, substance abuse, eating disorders and chronic pain.
It also positively influences immune function, reduces blood pressure and cortisol levels (reducing stress) and increases anti-ageing of the body’s cells, has positive effects on psychological well-being and enhances cognitive functioning.
You can ask your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you to help raise funds for much needed water projects.
I’ve registered and I hope you might like to join me. If you’re interested, you’ll have to be quick. Registrations close on Thursday 30th April. If you would like to simply donate to this vital cause, just go to the link below, and click on the DONATE button at the top.
